International Adoption Survey

PARTICIPANTS SOUGHT FOR AN INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION SURVEY
(This is not a FRUA survey)

A study is underway to investigate the experiences and insights of adoptive parents of children born in RUSSIA, a FORMER RUSSIAN REPUBLIC, or EASTERN EUROPE.

The aim of the study is to identify areas/issues of common concern and to share the collective wisdom of people who have been there. Here is an opportunity for your voice to be heard.

The primary focus of this study is on the adoption and post-adoption experiences of families who have adopted children with the following characteristics:

  • were adopted as a SIBLING GROUP, SIMULTANEOUS MULTIPLES (two or more non-biologically related children), or as a SINGLE CHILD AGE TWO OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF ADOPTION FROM AN INSTITUTIONAL SETTING
  • and who has/have LIVED WITH HIS/HER/THEIR ADOPTIVE FAMILY FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS.

However, families which have adopted a younger child/children from a foreign orphanage TWO OR MORE YEARS AGO are also welcome to participate.

The first phase of this study is being conducted through a questionnaire survey obtained by contacting the Study Director, Dr. Josephine Ruggiero, either by E-Mail or telephone (See below.).

Responses are completely anonymous. Interested respondents may also participate in the second phase of the study, a telephone survey, which will begin after the first phase of the study is completed.

Your experiences and insights can help others. They may also be useful in helping to improve how adoption agencies handle older child (non-infant) adoptions and the services available to adoptive  parents and children both before and after the adoption takes place.

If you are interested in participating in this study, or know someone who is, send your name, telephone number or E-Mail address, and mailing address to:
