FRUA Exists to offer hope, help and community to families formed through adoption in EE and western Asian countries. Our support is multi-level, from the one-on-one contact of local adoptive families, the combined wisdom of thousands of hours parenting adopted children, the support of regional chapters and the leadership of an all-volunteer, national board.
Here are four ways to get the support you need :
The FRUA National Education Conference is a world-class bargain... This periodic conference features internationally-known experts in medical, developmental and educational areas of expertise. It addresses the challenges that our children can face and successfully overcme, as well as one-on-one networking opportunities for attendees.
Entirely planned and executed by FRUA Education and Resource volunteers, the conference is moved about the country, allowing easier access for our membership. The last FRUA conference was held Oct. 16-17, 2010 in Philadelphia, PA. Past conferences have been held in Houston, Boston, Seattle and St. Louis. Go to the Conference tab for more information.
A date for the next FRUA conference has not yet been set and is dependant upon the formation of a volunteer conference committee. If you are interested in serving, plesae email our Education Chair at Education@frua.org.
FRUA has educational binders and CDS of past conference sessions for sale in our FRUA Store area.
