We've begun this page as a place to suggest a few resources that have been found useful by FRUA INC members.

At times, especially when the summer begins, it can be easy to put aside your concerns and questions about learning styles and your children's educational challenges.  But this is just the time to thoughtfully explore reading programs, remedial assistance, and think about your child's learning style so when fall arrives, you've armed yourself with information to get him the help he needs..


Reading programs for kids with disabilities:
  • What Works clearinghouse, a resource from the U.S. Dept. of Education Institute of Educational Sciences and - where reading programs that are appropriate for kids with disabilities have been reviewed.
  • This can help families to know more about whether or not programs a district says they use are in fact appropriate for their child - or to REQUEST that research based services or placements be used for their child.
