To complement the skills, expertise, and insights of the National Board of Directors, FRUA appoints an Advisory Board.
FRUA’s Advisory Board is made up of medical, educational and adoption professionals, former U.S. State Department officials, cultural contacts and corporate executives. FRUA is respectful of our Advisory Board members' time.

To become an Advisory Board member:
- Distribute FRUA material as appropriate. We can send extra copies of recent Family Focus. We also have an infographic with general information and a PowerPoint presentation with our most recent annual report.
- Share Advisory Board member writings and materials with FRUA. Full credit and referrals back to the author's website would be granted. These materials might consist of articles for reprinting in The Family Focus, website and social media links, etc. We are not asking for original material to be created for this use.
- Participate in FRUA Meaningful Discussions. These are short talks on topics meaningful to our families.
- Assist with introductions and FRUA outreach. Advisory Board members may make proper introductions for FRUA to get our name and programming known in other supportive communities, the media and other appropriate venues.
- For conferences, it is difficult for FRUA to sponsor and man tables in person; at the same time, local FRUA members could participate as panelists or FRUA National Board members could be available to speak with the press.
These principles can be revisited as we go in order to have the relationship benefit all parties.
